HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

  • Purchase and plant YieldGard VT Triple, YieldGard Corn Borer with Roundup Ready Corn 2 or YieldGard Plus between September 1, 2007 and May 31, 2008.

  • If you think you have a western bean cutworm infestation at or above the economic threshold, that infestation must be verified and a Crop Scout Log Sheet completed by one of the crop scout options listed below*.

  • The Western Bean Cutworm Reassurance Program applies only to acres planted with YieldGard Plus stacked trait products.

  • Should treatment for western bean cutworm be necessary, Monsanto will provide growers with up to $7/acre reimbursement to defray the cost of treatment with an approved insecticide**.

* Approved crop scouts would include Seed Dealers, Extension Agents, Crop Consultants and Ag-Chem Retailers.

** Qualifying insecticides: Asana®, Baythroid®, Fury®, Capture®, Lorsban®, Mustang®, Mustang Max™, Pounce®, ProAxis™, Respect™ and Warrior®.

*** All claims are subject to verification prior to payment. Monsanto may audit and adjust claims based on results of review (random and referred claims).

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

  1. If you suspect a western bean cutworm infestation at any point in the growing season, have your fields inspected by an approved scout*.

  2. Submit a Crop Scout Log Sheet/Claim Form,*** along with the original, dated invoices for your YieldGard Plus hybrid and approved Western Bean Cutworm insecticide to: WBC REASSURANCE PROGRAM; P.O. Box 411365; St. Louis, Missouri 63141. All claims must be postmarked by August 25, 2008.

  3. Monsanto will reimburse up to $7/acre to cover your cost for a qualified insecticide** treatment.

  4. Claim checks will be sent directly to growers from Monsanto by November 1, 2008.
