Today, growers have more product choices offering unique IRM requirements, which adds complexity to refuge planning.

To simplify your refuge planting options, plant your refuge in the same field or in a field adjacent to your B.t. field. Ask your seed provider for assistance for all of your refuge configuration option questions.

EPA mandates new requirements:

Grower compliance will be checked more frequently by the B.t. corn providers.

•

Growers found to be out of compliance with the refuge requirements now have a higher probability of losing access to B.t. corn if compliance is not established and maintained.
Compliance means correctly meeting ALL of the refuge requirements-which can vary by product:

1.

Size (e.g., 5%, 20%, 50%)

2.

Location (e.g., in-field, adjacent or within ½ mile)

3.

Planting (e.g., blocks, 4 row strips)

4.

Treatment (when and what to spray)
