Ohio Crop Update

Seed Type:
Corn

In Ohio, rain has been off and on the past week.  This slowed soybean harvest.  Soybean harvest is about 60% complete in the North part of the state, and 75% complete in the South part of the state.  Corn Harvest is just getting started with less than 10% harvested.

Over the past 16 days, corn has dried 9 points, a half point per day.  This is a relief to many growers.  The majority of corn is testing between 17%- 26% moisture, with some fields still testing wetter, and some drier.

In Ohio the corn is about 50% tasseled with some areas being more and others less.  The majority of corn is between V12 and R2.  Many soybean fields are starting to get some height to them, the majority being knee high or less.  During the past two weeks many soybean canopies have closed across the rows.
